NBA: Revamped Heat Host the Grizzlies as Scary Terry Makes His Bow

After their failed pursuit of Damian Lillard last summer, the Heat finally got their point guard in Terry Rozier, who might make his debut as early as tomorrow against the Grizzlies.

The NBA is busy as usual since there are a total of eight games to cover. Other than the Grizzlies-Heat game, SBOTOP basketball fans can also look forward to the Hornets-Pistons, Timberwolves-Wizards, Blazers-Rockets, Cavaliers-Bucks, Suns-Mavericks, Thunder-Spurs, and Hawks-Warriors matchups.

Which teams do you think will come out victorious tomorrow? Without further ado, continue reading more below as we preview the top five matches in another jam-packed day in the Association.

Minnesota Timberwolves @ Washington Wizards

Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch is not happy after they lost the top spot in the Western Conference following defeats against the Thunder and the Hornets.

The Hornets game, in particular, stings more for Minnesota. Karl-Anthony Towns’ 62-point explosion had gone to waste because they were badly outscored in the final period, which is horrible considering Charlotte are 27th in the league in terms of offencive rating.

So, look for them to unload on the Wizards, who are on a losing streak of their own with defeats against the Pistons, Knicks, Spurs, and Nuggets.

New acquisition Marvin Bagley III has been a bright spot for Washington during their lacklustre run of results, averaging 18.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per contest in his first three outings as a Wizard.

Memphis Grizzlies @ Miami Heat

The Heat can’t wait to see Terry Rozier in action for them after acquiring him from the Hornets in exchange for Kyle Lowry and a future first-round pick.

The reason why is because “Scary Terry” is averaging a career-best 23.2 points per game along with 3.9 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 36-per cent on three-pointers this season.

With the Heat struggling on offence this season because they’re currently 26th in the league for points per game (110.9), having a guy like Rozier certainly improves their NBA 2024 odds dramatically.

The Grizzlies are also in need of an offencive spark, given their injury-ravaged roster. Jaren Jackson Jr. had 27 points and a career-high six steals in their win against the Raptors, and the hope is that he can do it again tomorrow.

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Milwaukee Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks aim for a strong defensive strategy in their upcoming NBA match against the Cleveland Cavaliers

Joe Prunty will serve as the Bucks’ interim head coach starting tomorrow against the Cavs following the sacking of Adrian Griffin.

Despite owning the second-best record in the Eastern Conference (30-13), the Bucks felt the need to make a change because their defence has dipped considerably this season. From fourth last term, the Bucks are currently ranked 22nd in the NBA in defencive rating.

That was evident during their previous meeting against the Cavaliers six days ago, when they conceded 135 points, although it’s worth noting that they didn’t have Giannis Antetokounmpo at the time due to a shoulder injury.

Donovan Mitchell dropped 31 points during the win for the Cavs. And since then, Cleveland have blown out their opponents by at least 21 points in two consecutive matches prior to tomorrow.

Phoenix Suns @ Dallas Mavericks

The Suns are also on a roll lately, having won their last six games, so they will head to Dallas as the favourites to win.

Devin Booker and Kevin Durant have been spectacular during their winning streak, with both averaging 29.2 points per game. And Bradley Beal is back at full strength, averaging 21.5 points per game in the said span too.

While the Mavericks have capable scorers like the Suns, there are concerns about their overall fitness, as both Luka Doncic (back) and Kyrie Irving (thumb) are iffy to play tomorrow.

Unlike Phoenix, Dallas are currently on a two-game losing streak.

“Atlanta Hawks @ Golden State Warriors

The Warriors are finally back in action after being out for nine days following the shocking passing of their beloved assistant coach, Dejan Milojevic, and they will look to honor him by getting a win against the Hawks.

With Trae Young sidelined due to a concussion, it would be much easier for the Warriors to end their skid. As always, look for Steph Curry and Klay Thompson to create new NBA 2024 highlights with their outside shooting.

Like the Warriors, the Hawks are currently on a two-game losing streak, and it doesn’t help that their other star guard, Dejounte Murray, is in the midst of numerous trade rumours.

In the four games without Trae Young this season, Murray has averaged 27.3 points, 9.0 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game.
